The A2 licence can be obtained at the age of 19 years old with an approved CBT course and is a limited version of a full motorcycle license. The A2 license permits you to ride motorcycles that have a maximum horsepower of 47 BHP. However, bikes with more than this are only permitted to 94 BHP.
If you choose to go the A2 option to take, then you must pass Module 1 and Module 2 in your motorcycle test. Both tests are conducted on a motorbike that is eligible for A2 entitlement. Both modules can be booked in the same location as your CBT course and the theory test. The A2 route is for riders who have completed their CBT course relatively quickly and are ready both financially and physically to ride a larger bike.
The first module of the A2 motorcycle test is an indoor session where you will be taught how to control your bike, including emergency stops and slow speed maneuvering. Then, you'll take the on-road portion of the test where you are required to demonstrate hazard-avoiding exercises and road positioning. You will also have to conduct life-saving checks and maintain a 2-second gap from the vehicle in front. You could make minor errors up to a total of 10 faults. This includes not using your mirrors or failing to maintain the proper distance.

A3 Licence
The A2 Licence is a natural advancement from the CBT and allows riders to move up to larger bikes with higher power output. The A2 Licence also has additional advantages that you can't enjoy with the CBT. For example, you can ride on motorways and transport passengers. It is possible to make the transition from CBT to A2 by taking additional training and passing the appropriate practical exams. The A2 license is valid for two years and can be upgraded to a full, unrestricted A licence after another two years.
The first step in obtaining your A2 license is to be able to pass the Compulsory Base Training (CBT) test and Motorcycle Theory Test. Once you've completed these requirements, you are able to take the Module 1 and Module 2 practical tests. The module 1 test will test your riding abilities in a closed-circuit. the module 2 test requires riding on an open road.
You should be able to demonstrate excellent observation skills during the A2 practical test and be able to anticipate road hazards. The A1 and A2 licences differ from the rest of UK motorbike licenses, as they are restricted on weight-to-power ratios, not engine cc. This means that even 600cc bikes are A2 conforming, particularly those with restrictor kits. It is important to remember that not all bikes claiming to be A2 conforming are actually A2 compliant. A4 Licence
The A4 Licence allows drivers to drive vehicles that have four wheels or more. This license includes buses, trucks, and coaches. It also covers vehicles that transport dangerous products.
